Academy of Learning offers three Microsoft Excel training levels for every one from pure beginners, to those needing an Excel refresher, to those who need to upgrade their skills to an expert level. Each course includes everything you need for success.

Microsoft Excel - Level 1

Begginer to Intermediate

In this course, you will learn to create and manage worksheets and workbook files; enter data and create basic formulas to perform calculations. Learn to edit and manipulate cell content, modify worksheet structure, view and format worksheets, and use Microsoft Excel’s predefined functions. You will use the Find and Replace feature, use themes to format workbooks and practice preparing, previewing, and printing worksheets. Intermediate to Advance

In this course, you will learn to customize Microsoft Excel and streamline workflow. Learn to use named references, use links and hyperlinks and use data validation to ensure data integrity. You will master themes, conditional formatting, styles, and templates. Also learn how to create and organize data in a table and how to sort, filter, group, and outline data. Apply conditional logic to a formula, use functions to look up data, modify or format text, and perform financial calculations. Lastly you will practice working with charts, graphics, and diagrams. In this Excel course you will examine some of Microsoft’s tools for data analysis and projection. Learn to create, modify, and format PivotTables and PivotCharts, examine various aspects of worksheet auditing, and customization of workbooks. You will also learn about the various features of Excel that facilitate collaboration with others, and explore some common ways that Excel data can be used with other programs and on the Web. Each level of Microsoft Excel includes online/digital resources, interactive practice, remote access for safety, one-on-one Learning Coach assistance, and comprehensive textbooks. These courses are recognized across the province and country. They are also eligible for third party funding including Worksafe, insurance, employer, WorkBC organizations and many more.

Students accomplish the learning objectives for each module through a series of hands-on tasks, for which they are given step-by-step instructions and desired result checkpoints. The tasks provide ample opportunity for students to practice, apply, and develop the skills covered in the course.

A practice exercise and review questions are included at the end of each module to measure progress and reinforce the skills learned. There is also a lab exercise at the end of the course to provide further practice and review to reinforce the topics learned throughout the course, and to help prepare students for the exam.
