In addition to a great campus, Kamloops also offers many exciting and fun attractions:

1. Peterson Creek Park

A beautiful park with hiking trails that vary in difficulty- from casual stroll to experienced rock climbing. Only 5 minutes from campus, this park offers a picnic area, a waterfall and gorgeous views of the city surrounded by lilies and wildflowers. A definite must see for anyone who loves nature or hiking!

2. Harper Mountain

The ideal mountain experience for the whole family! Situated 20 minutes outside of Kamloops, Harper Mountain offers: skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing as well as a tube park and old fashioned wood lodges. Skii and snowboard instruction packages are available for all ages, and the cozy log day lodge offers a large wood fireplace to warm up beside while admiring the panoramic views.

3. Music in the Park

Set in Riverside Park, a mere 5 minute walk from campus, you can bring a picnic blanket and the entire family to enjoy a free performance by a local musician. Nightly performances featuring different musicians, as well as an assortment of food trucks to satisfy your hunger are all a few blocks away from campus. In addition to great music, Riverside park offers your choice between two children’s parks, a gorgeous view of the North Thompson River and local cultural performances.

4. Privato Vineyard and Winery

Privato is a hidden gem within the BC interior, with an idyllic and intimate setting. Privato is a family owned boutique winery dedicated to the production of premium Burgandian styled wines. On the events list, you can expect winery picnics on the wine patio, Art exhibitions and wine tasting nights as well as pet days with select vendors from the pet industry that encourage you to bring your fur family along with you!
